Deutsche Bank Wealth Management appoints Ingrid Widjaja as new group head in Southeast Asia

Based in Singapore, she reports to Kin-Mun Kwong, head of WM coverage, Southeast Asia.

Deutsche Bank Wealth Management (WM) announced the appointment of Ingrid Widjaja as its new Group Head dedicated to client coverage in Southeast Asia, the latest in a series of hires to achieve its growth strategy in the region.

Widjaja, who joined on February 19, will lead a team of six including team head David Ng, Relationship Managers Katherine Lok and Florence Tee, and Investment Advisor Lee Chin Kit, all of whom joined in the past month. She is based in Singapore, reporting to Kin-Mun Kwong, head of WM coverage, Southeast Asia.

Widjaja brings close to 30 years industry experience to Deutsche Bank WM. She was previously with HSBC Private Banking Singapore from 1999, most recently as market head – Indonesia, managing director. Prior to that, she was with Merrill Lynch Singapore, Banque Indosuez Indonesia, and American Express Bank Indonesia and the US.

This is the third team hire under Kwong’s supervision that is dedicated to covering clients in the Southeast Asian market. The bank hired six Singapore-based relationship managers led by Jonathan Ng and Gregory Goh in December 2017.

Led by Lok Yim, head of WM APAC, Deutsche Bank WM is investing in digital technology and strengthening its entire ecosystem by hiring talent across different functions including client coverage, IT, Know-Your-Client, project management, operations and product platforms in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Dubai. The wealth management division has made more than 60 hires in APAC in the past six months.
