HSBC India launches premium credit card for private banking clients
Wealthy cardholders in India increased their credit card spending by 87% in 2023.
HSBC India has unveiled its first premium credit card HSBC Privé, offered exclusively for its private banking clients in India.
HSBC’s Global Private Banking business in India serves high net worth (HNW) and ultra-high net worth (UHNW) individuals, entrepreneurs, and their families with investable assets of more than $2m.
The launch comes on the back of India-based UHNW and HNW segment— represented by World and World Elite Mastercard cardholders in India— increasing their credit card spending by 87% year-on-year (YoY) in 2023.
Notably, overseas spending on experiences and travel categories grew by 69% and 56%, respectively, over the same period.
Amongst perks offered include access to premium airport lounges globally, travel insurance, Visa at your doorstep, zero forex mark-up on all international spends, and a companion first or business class airline ticket with leading airlines.
Cardholders will also have access to bespoke private clubs, members-only lounges, and workplaces at more than 150 locations across Asia, Australia, Europe, and the United States.
Other perks include access to Michelin Star restaurants, and access to bespoke experiences such as travel to Antarctica by Private Jet, or complimentary golf access in Asia Pacific, amongst others.
