CIMB launches 6-year roadmap to enhance operations

Forward30 aims to position CIMB for long-term growth.

CIMB Group Holdings Berhad has launched its Forward30 strategic plan, a six-year roadmap aimed at boosting the organisation’s resilience.

The new strategy follows the completion of the Forward23+ (F23+) plan, which saw CIMB improve its return on equity from 2.1% in 2020 to 11.2% and achieve an annualised total shareholder return of 34.6% between 2020 and 2024.

The gains were driven by portfolio reshaping, a strengthened corporate culture, improved asset quality, and greater operational efficiency.

Group CEO Novan Amirudin said Forward30 will guide the bank’s competitive strategy, leveraging its ASEAN presence to optimise capital, drive sustainable financial performance, and enhance shareholder value.

He highlighted global megatrends such as geopolitical shifts, economic cycles, and advancements in generative AI as key factors shaping the plan.

Forward30 aims to position CIMB for long-term growth whilst maintaining a customer-centric approach.
