Citi makes new appointments in APAC treasury and trade business

Sumanta Panigrahi is the new APAC TWCS head, whilst Thus De Silva is the new APAC head of commercial cards.

Citi has made new appointments to its Asia Pacific Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) business.

Sumanta Panigrahi has been named as the Asia Pacific head of trade and working capital solutions (TWCS), Asia Pacific. Panigrahi is now responsible for working with Citi’s regional client, product, and country business partners to grow the TWCS business in Asia.

He has been with Citi for 23 years, and has worked in TTS in India, UK, and Hong Kong. He was most recently head of APAC export and agency finance (EAF).

Citi has also appointed Thus De Silva as Asia Pacific Head of commercial cards at Citi, based in Singapore.

De Silva, who has held the role on an interim basis since 2022, will be responsible for  driving growth with Asia clients across the market network, as well as pioneering innovative business to business (B2B) flows and continuing to enhance the travel and expense proposition of Citi.

De Silva first joined Citi in 2008 as part of the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) commercial cards team as an onboarding manager.
