Hyundai Card debuts Apple Pay debit card
It enables users to pay by tapping their iPhone or Apple Watch.
Hyundai Card has launched an Apple Pay-dedicated debit card that allows users to pay using their iPhone or Apple Watch.
The Hyundai Card Check (Apple Pay Rewards) card enables users to pay by tapping their iPhone or Apple Watch, and offers cashback rewards, the South Korean credit card company said.
Hyundai Card expects this debit card to appeal to a younger demographic, particularly with consumers in their teens and early twenties.
In a 2025 study by the Bank of Korea (BOK), consumers in their twenties reportedly demonstrated the highest preference for debit cards amongst all age groups. This is because it deducts funds instantly at the point-of-sale, allowing users to monitor their balances in real-time.
Financial authorities have reduced the eligible age for debit card issuance from 12 to 7 years old, Hyundai Card said.
