PNB, JCB card debuts as Japan travel demand grows

Cardholders can access selected overseas airport lounges and multilingual travel assistance.

JCB International Co., Ltd. (JCBI), the international operations subsidiary of Japan's payment brand JCB, has partnered with Philippine National Bank (PNB) to launch the PNB JCB Platinum Credit Card in the Philippines.

The new credit card is aimed at Filipino consumers who use a combination of digital, in-person, and international payment methods. It offers rewards, flexible payment options, and access to JCB's merchant and travel network, particularly in Japan.

One of the card's main features is an automatic instalment option for eligible online purchases worth at least $480 (P30,000).

Qualifying transactions are automatically converted into a three-month instalment plan without monthly add-on interest.

Cardholders earn one rewards point for every $1.12 (P70) spent.
Spending in Japan or transactions billed in Japanese yen earn rewards at a higher rate of one point for every $0.64 (P40) spent. 

Points can be redeemed as cash credits against outstanding credit card balances.

The card also provides access to selected overseas airport lounges, JCB's multilingual concierge service for travellers, and exclusive offers in Japan.
