SEA fintech funding falls 3% to $682m as early stage money shrinks

There were zero IPOs and acquisitions fell to just 6 for the H1 period.

Southeast Asia’s financial technology (fintech) companies raised $682m in the first six months of 2026, down 3% from the same period last year, according to data from Tracxn. It is also 4% lower than the second half of 2025.

This indicates that the market isn’t shrinking but is also not bouncing bank, Tracxn said in the synopsis of “SEA FinTech Semi-Annual Funding Report - H1 2026.”

Seed stage funding rose 45% year-on-year (YoY) to $78.1m, but early-stage funding fell 23% YoY to $153m.

Acquisitions fell to 6, down 45% from H1 2025. Notable deals include HCL Technologies’ $14.7m acquisition of Finergic, a wealth management and consulting solutions provider. Western Union also acquired Dash but for an undisclosed amount, Tracxn noted.

There were zero IPOs in H1, compared to 1 in the first half of 2025.

Two SEA companies, Airwallex and Edena Capital, accounted for 62% of all capital raised during the period. Airwallex raised $320m in a Series H round whilst Edena Capital raised $100m in a Series D round. Strip the two rounds and the ecosystem raised just $260m, Tracxn said.

Singapore accounted for 79% of all funding raised in H1 2026. Taguig, Philippines followed, making up 9% of the total funding, data showed.

Top seed stage investors are HashKey Capital, Stellaris, and Bixin Ventures.

Altara Ventures, Peak XV Partners, and Santo Venture Capital were the top early-stage investors during the H1 period, whilst Hedosophia was the top late-stage investors over the same period.
