Tokyo government unveils free consultation services for foreign financial firms

Asset management and fintechs with no registered office in Japan may apply.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) has launched free consulting services to foreign financial companies through its ‘Invest Tokyo’ programme, according to a press release.

Under the programme, asset management companies and fintechs may receive consultation support in the form of market analysis, growth strategy planning, and expert, legal, and other specialist advice.

Asset management companies and fintechs with no registered office in Japan and are registered outside Japan may apply for the programme.

After they are screened and selected for the programme, companies will need to submit an investment plan.

The programme is part of the TMG’s initiative to revitalize its financial sector and make Tokyo an ‘unrivalled global financial centre.’
