ABA Bank recognised at Asian Banking & Finance Retail Banking Awards 2025
The bank bagged the Domestic Retail Bank of the Year - Cambodia for strengthening its leadership as Cambodia’s largest and most innovative financial institution.
ABA Bank earned the accolade at the Asian Banking & Finance Retail Banking Awards 2025 for its efforts in delivering record-breaking financial performance, digital innovation, and nationwide expansion.
According to the National Bank of Cambodia’s Annual Supervision Report (2021–2024), ABA – which has more than 5 million clients, 100 branches, 46 self-banking spots, and over 1,800 advanced banking machines – ranks #1 in assets, deposits, loans, and profitability.
ABA offers secure, convenient, and cutting-edge banking experiences both online and in-person. With these, it closed 2024 with its total assets rising 19.8% to US$13b, customer deposits increasing 19.3% to US$11b, and gross loans growing 10.2% to reach US$8b.
More than just being a bank, ABA is a tech-driven financial partner. Its ABA Mobile banking app has become an everyday essential in Cambodia, with a record of 4.8 million users.
ABA Mobile gained 1 million new users in 2024 alone. Its users performed 1.43 billion transactions, with the transaction volume totalling over US$252b.
This growth was supported by the innovations it implemented during the year, including its FacePass secure feature that uses live face analysis to ensure top-tier security for ABA accounts. With a 0% false acceptance rate, over 3.7 million users now rely on FacePass for high-value transactions and personal account access.
It also has in-app chat, which is also Cambodia’s first secure payment chat tool. This allows users to confirm details and send money without switching apps. With nearly 200,000 users and growing, this feature also helps reduce fraud and impersonation scams.
It features Navi, Cambodia’s first AI-powered banking assistant, which answers real-time client questions in multiple languages. In just two months, Navi assisted over 43,000 users with more than 115,000 inquiries.
On the business side, the ABA Business platform serves over 31,500 enterprises that include global brands – collaborations that led to a 35% rise in online transaction volume in 2024.
Meanwhile, ABA has improved its reliability and user experience by launching a new ABA Business mobile app in-house. This move ensures local relevance and top-tier performance that caters to the specific needs of Cambodia’s growing enterprise ecosystem.
Furthermore, ABA facilitated 25% of national tax collections and 10% of all levies and customs duties in 2024. Its Escrow Service has also provided secure and regulated options for large-scale real estate and property transactions.
ABA offers a full suite of digital solutions, namely ABA Mobile app for individuals, ABA Merchant app for retail and POS, ABA Business platform for SMEs and corporates, ABA PayWay for e-commerce and QR payments, ABA BillZone for tax, utility, and government payments, and ABA PAY network for interbank QR code payments.
With these offerings, ABA enhances financial access and empowers clients in every segment of society.
Whether through advanced digital tools or world-class banking services, ABA continues to make banking smarter, safer, and more accessible for all.
