
Westpac names Carolyn McCann as chief executive, consumer
McCann was previous group executive for customer and corporate services.
Westpac has appointed Carolyn McCann as chief executive, consumer, effective 12 August 2025.
McCann has 30 years of corporate experience and has worked in the banking and insurance industries for two decades.
She has been acting chief executive, consumer, since 12 May 2025.
McCann was previously group executive, customer and corporate services, where she was responsible for Westpac’s operations, scams, and fraud prevention; customer collections and hardship; property resilience; corporate affairs and marketing.
Under McCann’s leadership, Westpac’s scam protection has been significantly upgraded with market leading solutions reducing losses by 40%, and complaints handling processes have been transformed, CEO Anthony Miller said in a statement published at Westpac’s official website.
