Taiwan SME loans rise to $520.63m in February

The average NPL ratio is the same as in January.

Loans extended to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Taiwan by domestic banks increased by $520.63m (NT$16.4b) to $346.98b (NT$10.93t) by end-February 2026 compared to a month earlier, according to data from the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC).

Loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks accounted for 63.37% of total loans extended to total enterprises, and 67.18% of total loans extended to private enterprises.

The average non-performing loan (NPL) ratio of the SME loans was 0.20% as of end-February, the same as in January.
