
Taiwan’s domestic banks gave out $3.78b in SME loans in July
The NPL ratio rose by 0.01 percentage point.
Taiwan’s domestic banks have extended a total of NT$10.68t in loans to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by end-July, according to data from the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC).
This is an increase of $3.78b (NT$114.5b) compared to the amount at end-June 2025, the FSC said.
The amount of loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks accounted for 63.95% of total loans extended to all enterprises, and 67.57% of total loans extended to private companies. This is a decrease of 0.78 percentage point (ppt) and 0.99 ppt compared to the previous year.
Average non-performing loan (NPL) ratio of the SME loans was 0.22%, a 0.01 ppt increase compared to end-June.
