BOCHK warns of 9 fraudulent websites, phishing email

It has reported the case to local authorities.

Bank of China (Hong Kong) (BOCHK) has warned its customers of 9 fraudulent websites.

The hyperlinks were reportedly part of a phishing email that claims to have been sent by a local telecommunications service provider. One such phishing email is by Fred.olande@alldata[.]com.

The fraudulent website links are as follows:

  • hxxps://epselectricidad[.]com[.]ar/webs/
  • hxxps://pccwservices[.]com/hk/BOC_CN/username[.]php?
  • hxxps://pccwservices[.]com/hk/BOC_EN/username[.]php?
  • hxxps://pccw-hkt[.]online/hk/BOC_CN/username[.]php?
  • hxxps://pccw-hkt[.]online/hk/BOC_EN/username[.]php?
  • hxxps://customerservice-pccw[.]com/hk/BOC_CN/username[.]php?
  • hxxps://customerservice-pccw[.]com/hk/BOC_EN/username[.]php?
  • hxxps://customerservice-pccw[.]net/hk/BOC_CN/username[.]php?
  • hxxps://customerservice-pccw[.]net/hk/BOC_EN/username[.]php?

These websites intend to steal customers’ data, BOCHK warned, adding that it has no connection to these websites.

The bank added that it has reported the case to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the Hong Kong Police Force.

BOCHK advised customers to access internet banking or mobile banking accounts through its official website address, www.bochk.com, or through the BOCHK mobile app downloaded from official app stores.

“Customers should not access such accounts or provide personal information (including passwords) through hyperlinks, QR codes or attachments embedded in e-mails or on websites,” BOCHK warned in a press announcement.

Customer who has logged into the aforesaid fraudulent websites and provided personal information are asked to immediately contact BOCHK Customer Service Hotline at (852) 3988 2388 (press 3, # and 2 after language selection).
