Taiwanese banks’ SME loans rise to $342.87b in January 2026
SME loans accounted for over 64% of total loans extended to all enterprises.
Loans extended by Taiwanese banks to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) amounted to $342.87b (NT$10.92t) by end-January 2026, according to data from the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC).
This is $866.6m (NT$27.6b) higher compared to the amount in December 2025.
SME loans extended by domestic banks accounted for 64.54% of total loans extended to total enterprises, and 68.01% of total loans to private enterprises.
The average non-performing loan (NPL) ratio of SME loans was 0.20%, the same ratio as in December 2025.
