HDFC Bank to double branches in Chhattisgarh

Wants to have 74 branches by FY 2014.

HDFC Bank, India's second largest private sector lender, currently has 37 branches across Chhattisgarh state. Chhattisgarh is a key market for the bank since it is a “shining state” as far as the development and growth are concerned, said media reports.

The bank's 37 branches are spread across 29 cities in the state and are linked on online. HDFC will focus on the semi- urban and rural centers against ICICI Bank and State Bank of India while expanding its operations in the state.

The bank also aims to double the number of ATMs Chhattisgarh to 122 by March 31, 2014.
