Taiwan’s credit card undue balance decline in January 2025

A total of 39.07 million cards were active during the month.

Credit card issuing institutions in Taiwan collectively hold an undue balance of $10.27b (NT$338.6b) as of January 2025, according to data from the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC).

This is lower than the $12.74b (NT$420.2b) recorded in December 2024.

Balance of revolving credit was $3.44b (NT$113.6b) in January, versus $3.53b (NT$116.3b) in end-December.

A total of 39.07 million cards were active during the month against 58.65 million effective cards in total that were issued by 32 credit card institutions.

The average ratio of delinquency credit (past due over three months) against account receivables was 0.28%, from 0.29% at the end of December 2024.
