Bank of Singapore HK names ex-chief of Credit Suisse HK as its new chief executive

Rickie Chan succeeds Cindy Wong, who will serve as advisor until 31 May.

Bank of Singapore has appointed Rickie Chan as the new chief executive of its Hong Kong branch.

In his new role, Chan will be responsible for the risk and governance of Bank of Singapore’s Hong Kong branch. He will continue in his role as head of private banking, Greater China, for the Hong Kong branch.

Chan first joined Bank of Singapore on 15 February, bringing with him 28 years of experience in private banking, wealth management and capital markets. Prior to this, he was most notably the chief executive of the Hong Kong branch and the head of global wealth Management, Greater China for Credit Suisse.

He succeeds Cindy Wong, who will serve as an advisor until 31 May 2024.

Chan’s appointment comes on the back of a hiring spree by Bank of Singapore over the last couple of years in Greater China. The bank filled 150 new roles in 2022 and 2023, whilst assets under management from the Greater China region rose by 10%.
