Maryono is new BTN President

Maryono will replace Iqbal Latanro as Bank Tabungan Negara president director for the period of 2012-2017.

Shareholders have approved his appointment.

Iqbal will resign from the top position at Indonesia’s biggest home lender after serving two terms with the bank. “We hope that the new board of directors will be a solid team so that they can boost BTN’s performance,” Iqbal said.

His successor, Maryono, is a veteran banker. He began his career at Bank Pembangunan Indonesia, one out of the four lenders that merged into Bank Mandiri, the biggest lender by assets in the country.

Maryono said he will maintain BTN’s vision and concentrate on housing and mortgage loans. “We will also boost human resources so that we have a strong corporate culture,” he said.
