Bank of China reviews Luxembourg operations

BOC President Tian Guoli visits Luxembourg.

Guoli praised Luxembourg's efforts in providing a hub for its European headquarters during a recent visit to the Grand Duchy. He also discussed BOC’s future in Luxembourg with Finance Minister Luc Frieden.

Guoli’s meeting with Frieden gave both leaders a chance to review the current issues and activities facing BOC.

Frieden said Luxembourg is playing a growing role in the liberalization of the renminbi, and highlighted his country’s strategy of positioning Luxembourg as the international renminbi hub of Europe.

BOC, one of the China’s Big Four state-owned banks, has been based in Luxembourg since 1979.
