Singapore, Italy kick off program showcasing 6 Italian fintechs
The startups get 1-to-1 pitching sessions with investors, amongst others.
Singapore and Italy have kicked off the Global Startup Program Demo Day at the Marina Bay Cruise Centre.
The Italian Trade Agency (ITA) organized the event in collaboration with Singaporean pre-seed investor Tenity Singapore. This is the third time that Singapore is participating in the program.
Six Italian fintech startups are participating in the program: Appeaty, Finanz, Herclec Srl, Startgram, Twiper Srl, and Volvero.
The startups are provided with masterclasses on fundraising and the FinTech landscape in Asia; tailored mentorship and coaching from Tenity; as well as attendance at industry networking events.
They are also given 1-to-1 pitching sessions with accredited investors; meetings with potential investors and corporations; and meetings with key influencers within the local innovation ecosystem – notably Bank Julius Baer and Aspire.
It is expected to draw in stakeholders, including venture capitalists, banking professionals, and industry leaders, who will have the opportunity to connect directly with six innovative Italian FinTech startups.
The Global Startup Program in Singapore runs from October 7 to November 8, 2024.
ITA Singapore director Giorgio Calveri noted the need for a “strong partnership” between Italy and Singapore in order to put Italian fintech startups on the global map.
“The Global Startup Program has already brought to Singapore 22 startups and some of them have already signed important business agreements,” Calveri said.
Ambassador of Italy to Singapore Dante Brandi said that Singapore offers an ideal gateway for Italian startups to grow and thrive in the global market.
“Singapore is ASEAN’s economic hub and provides an environment that is attractive to Italian businesses looking to strategically expand into new markets,” Ambassador Brandi said.
