Citi appoints Angus Yang as head of prime finance for APAC

Yang has over 20 years of experience in the market.

Citi has announced the appointment of Angus Yang as Head of Prime Finance for Asia Pacific.

According to a release from Citi, based in Hong Kong, Yang will be responsible for Prime Services, Equity Finance, Agency Securities Lending and Delta One across the region, including Japan and Australia. He will report to David Russell, Asia Pacific Head of Securities Services, and Adam Herrmann, Global Head of Prime Finance.

“Angus joins Citi at a time of growth and focus on Prime Finance. He is one of the many talented individuals we have brought on to scale up the business as we look to bring the full strength of Citi’s global offering to our hedge fund clients,” said Herrmann.

Yang has more than 20 years of experience in the prime and securities financing markets, and was most recently the Head of Prime Finance for Barclays in Asia. He has spent almost half his career in Japan and has deep experience with the global quantitative client base as well as the Synthetic and Delta One product range. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario’s Ivey Business School and is a fluent Mandarin speaker.
